The moment Stichting Jacht Recycling receives the assignment to dispose or recycle pleasure craft, a team of experts will make an adequate recycle plan.
After recycling of the boat, the disposer receives a certificate that states that the ship is properly dismantled and that all remaining materials have been disposed of in a responsible manner- according to Dutch and European legislation.
By working this way, Stichting Jacht Recycling destresses the disposer and will avoid their risk of being liable for environmental damage.
Boatwrecks
An underestimated and growing problem in the water.
Recreational boats or pleasure yachts at the end of their life cycle are a underestimated and growing problem. Many yachts were bought in the '60s and '70s and are now coming to the end of their lifecycle due to various reasons.
For individuals, it is not easy to find the right address for recycling their vessel in a responsible way. Therefor, recreational boats end up semi abandoned in waterways owned by the government or in harbors. The owners of these recreational yachts are difficult or even impossible to trace. The boats often contain components that are a burden to the environment, and many vessels threaten to sink, causing serious environmental hazard.
About Us
Why this initiative?
Yacht Recycling is necessary. Old vessels can result in a big environmental hazard and obstruct the market from used boats to new builds.
At the end of a yachts life cycle it gets left behind in waterways and harbors. Owners are not traceable and the environmental hazards keep stacking up. We believe this is unacceptable in this day and age.
Certifications
Fully Certified, the disposer will receive a certificate regarding the reliability, effectiveness and efficiency of our services.
Recycling
Governments, yacht builders and the trade industry all benefit from the removal of yachts that have reached the end of their life cycle!
Stichting Jacht Recycling aims to dismantle all vessels offered and ensures the vessel is removed from the trade market.
The pleasure yachts are dismantled in a responsible manner and all waste materials will be recycled in a sustainable manner. By recycling we also mean the reuse of materials. In addition to recycling, we will reuse products or parts thereof, without separating them into sections.
Full Unburdening, High Savings and Maximum Recycling of your waste material! These are the main goals of the Stichting Jacht Recycling. We unburden by conducting the entire project in a responsible manner. High savings by keeping everything in our own hands and with constant monitoring. And maximum recycling to have the most positive impact on the environment.
Vessels that are dismantled by Stichting Jacht Recycling will not be brought back into the market. That means that the entire watersports industry is positively influenced by the activities and services of Stichting Jacht Recycling.
Disassembly and dismantling
We work with a team of specialized technicians that oversee the complete disassembly or dismantling of the ship. A security coordinator will always be present to oversee compliance with safety and environmental legislation. Our professional team possesses the appropriate certificates to perform the work safely and responsibly!
Material separation
Material separation is essential. A vessel usually consists of wood, steel, GRP materials and residual materials. Separating these materials is worthwhile!
The recycling of materials saves raw materials, energy and environmental pollution. Each kilogram of waste not going to the incinerator saves 5 eurocents.
Environment and safety
What is the environmental problem? Yachts at the end of their life cycle usually contain an internal combustion engine, containing lubricating oil and fuel tanks with diesel or petrol. Also, in many yachts asbestos is used as insulation for engine parts. Now these yachts are left behind. When they sink it poses a major problem for the often vulnerable surrounding countryside in which these yachts are left.
Recycling is the recovery and redeeming of raw materials for re-use from waste.
